Get matched: corporate events

Free for businesses. A concierge will contact you to confirm your needs before any introductions. Not sure what you need yet? That is fine, describe the problem. You can write in English or Chinese (中文).

In short: A good event company gives you one contact, a written budget and run sheet, and an on-site team handling suppliers. Ask for an itemised quote separating venue, catering and production, and agree in writing who applies for any licences such as a Public Entertainment Licence.

An event company in Singapore plans and runs events for you, from the first concept and budget through venue sourcing, suppliers, production and on-the-day management. For corporate clients, the work usually means dinner and dance nights (D&Ds), conferences and town halls, team building days, product launches and client appreciation events. A good corporate event company gives you one point of contact, a written budget and run sheet, and a team on site that deals with suppliers so your staff can attend the event rather than run it.

Types of corporate event and what is included

Most event companies cover several of these, but many have a strength. Match the company to the event you are actually planning.

What it costs in Singapore

Corporate event budgets depend heavily on headcount, venue and production, so published “from” prices only go so far. From pages we checked in October 2026:

  • One Singapore team building provider says most programmes in Singapore range from S$30 to S$80 per participant, with indoor programmes from S$45 per person, outdoor programmes from S$30 per person and premium experiences from S$80 per person. It does not say whether these include GST.
  • Hotel dinner and dance packages we looked at are usually priced per table of 10 or per person, with a minimum number of guests, and marked “++”, meaning service charge and GST are added on top.

Treat any published figure as a starting point, not a quote. The main cost drivers are:

  • Headcount and minimums. Venues and caterers often set minimum guest numbers or minimum spend.
  • Venue and date. Hotel ballrooms, unusual venues and Friday or Saturday nights in the year-end season cost more.
  • Food and drink. Menu choice, free-flow drinks and corkage can move the total a lot.
  • Production. Stage, lighting, LED screens, sound and live streaming are often the largest variable line.
  • Entertainment and talent. Emcees, performers and speakers are priced individually.
  • Lead time. Short notice limits venue choice and can add rush charges.
  • Service charge and GST. Check whether each line is quoted before or after both.

Singapore rules and permits buyers should know

Many indoor corporate functions at an established venue need no extra licence, but some features do. The venue and event company should tell you which apply. Agree in writing who applies for each one.

Public Entertainment Licence (SPF)

GoBusiness says a Public Entertainment Licence is generally needed under the Public Entertainments Act 1958 for entertainment provided in a place to which the public, or any class of the public, has access, unless the activity is exempt. An invite-only staff event is different from a ticketed or public launch, so ask whether your format needs one.

Large events: Notice of Intention to Organise an Event (SPF)

Under the Public Order Act, organisers must notify the police through GoBusiness if they expect more than 5,000 people at a public event or more than 10,000 at a private event, at least 28 days before the event. The Ministry of Home Affairs announcement explains the rule.

Serving alcohol (SPF)

Supplying liquor needs a licence. Licensed hotels and restaurants hold their own. For an event at an unlicensed venue, ask whether a Class 5 temporary liquor licence is needed and who will apply.

Tents, booths and temporary structures (SCDF, BCA)

Events with structural set-ups such as tentage and booths may need an SCDF Temporary Change of Use permit. SCDF’s outdoor event fire safety conditions set limits such as a maximum single tent size. Larger temporary structures, such as multi-storey or inflatable ones, may also need a permit from BCA.

Attendee data (PDPC)

Registration lists, photos and contact details are personal data. Ask how the event company collects, stores and deletes them in line with the Personal Data Protection Act.

How to choose a corporate event company

Ask each company:

  • Which of your recent events were most like ours in size and format?
  • Who is our day-to-day contact, and who leads on the day?
  • Can we see an itemised budget with venue, food, production and fees shown separately?
  • Is your fee a fixed sum, a percentage of spend or built into supplier prices?
  • Which permits does this event need, and who applies for them?
  • What insurance do you hold, and what is your safety and wet weather plan?
  • What are the payment milestones, cancellation terms and change policy?
  • Who owns the photos, videos and creative work afterwards?

Red flags

  • A single lump-sum quote with no breakdown
  • No written contract, run sheet or cancellation terms
  • Unclear answers about who applies for permits
  • Large deposits demanded before a venue is confirmed in writing
  • No public liability insurance, or no wish to show it
  • A portfolio with no events of your size or type
  • Pressure to commit before you have seen a proposal for your actual date and headcount

How FYAdvisers matching works

Frequently asked questions

How does matching work?

You describe the event: the type, date, headcount, budget range, whether you have a venue and what you want the event company to handle. A concierge then contacts you to confirm the details and, with your consent, introduces you to the number you choose (one to five) of event companies that run that kind of event. They contact you directly, and you decide whether to go ahead with any of them.

Is it free?

Yes. It is free for businesses requesting a match. Providers pay FYAdvisers to receive introductions. FYAdvisers does not plan or run events itself.

How far ahead should we book an event company?

It depends on the event and the season. Popular venues and dates around the year-end and festive period are booked early, so start as soon as you know your date and headcount. If your event needs a police notice, such as a private event that may exceed 10,000 people, that notice is due at least 28 days before the event.

Do we need a licence for a company dinner or conference?

Not always. A Public Entertainment Licence is generally needed for entertainment in a place the public, or a class of the public, can access. Serving alcohol, building tents or stages, and very large crowds can trigger other permits. Ask your event company and venue which apply and who will apply for them.

How much does a corporate event cost in Singapore?

It depends on headcount, venue, food, production and entertainment. One team building provider we checked in October 2026 says most programmes run from S$30 to S$80 per participant. For dinners and conferences, ask for an itemised quote with venue, catering and production shown separately.
