How the estimate works
The estimator takes the highest support level Enterprise Singapore publishes for your company size and activity type, and applies it to the project cost you enter. It then checks two yearly caps. The grant cannot take you past S$100,000 in total EDGE support for the grant year, and for single-function digital solutions, integrated enterprise systems and pre-scoped equipment it cannot take you past S$30,000. If you have already had support approved this grant year, enter it so the estimator can deduct it from the caps.
Your company's share is the project cost minus the estimated grant. Because EDGE pays on a reimbursement basis, you pay the full amount to the vendor first and claim the grant after the activity is completed and paid for.
Support levels and caps
From Enterprise Singapore's EDGE Grant FAQ and EDGE Grant page, checked October 2026:
| Activity type | SME | Non-SME |
|---|---|---|
| Most activities | Up to 50% | Up to 30% |
| Internationalisation | Up to 70% | Up to 50% |
| Sustainability | Up to 70% | Up to 50% |
- Yearly cap: S$100,000 per company across all EDGE activities, refreshed on 1 April each year.
- Digital sub-cap: within that, up to S$30,000 for single-function digital solutions, integrated enterprise systems and pre-scoped equipment. One FAQ answer describes this as covering "selected automation activities", so confirm which bucket your activity falls in.
- Eligibility basics: a Singapore-registered business with at least 30% local shareholding by Singapore citizens or permanent residents.
The EDGE page groups support into seven business areas: Automation and Digitalisation, Business Strategy, Financial Management, Innovation, Internationalisation, Standards and Sustainability, with more than 150 activities. It says support levels differ by activity, so the figures above are maximums. Some activities outside the Sustainability area, such as Sustainability Standards, have sustainability in their name; check the activity's own page for its level.
What the estimator does not know
- Which costs are supportable. Each activity has its own cost components. For packaged digital solutions, the FAQ points to IMDA's SMEs Go Digital platform for the breakdown. Enter only the costs you expect to qualify.
- GST. The EDGE pages we checked do not say whether GST is supportable, so the estimator asks for the cost before GST.
- Timing. Retrospective applications are not supported. Do not sign, start work or pay a deposit before you apply.
- Vendor rules. Some activities need a pre-approved vendor, and the vendor cannot be related to your company. EDGE accepts a single, final claim, so later invoices cannot be added.
- Tax interaction. If you plan to claim the 400% AI tax deduction under the Enterprise Innovation Scheme, IRAS excludes spending subsidised by a grant, so the same dollars cannot count twice.
Using EDGE for an AI project
The EDGE pages do not list a separate AI activity. A packaged AI tool may sit under digital solutions, where the S$30,000 sub-cap applies, while a larger custom project may fit an innovation or business-improvement activity. If you are still deciding what to build, our AI consulting service helps you scope a project and prepare the itemised description a grant application needs. Only your company can submit the application. To compare developers, use our free AI development matching.
Frequently asked questions
What is the EDGE Grant?
An Enterprise Singapore grant that replaced the Enterprise Development Grant (EDG), Market Readiness Assistance (MRA) and Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG). Those schemes ceased on 29 September 2026, and new applications have gone to EDGE since 30 September 2026.
How much can the EDGE Grant cover?
Enterprise Singapore's FAQ says up to 50% of costs for SMEs and up to 30% for non-SMEs, rising to up to 70% for SMEs and 50% for non-SMEs on internationalisation and sustainability activities. Each company can receive up to S$100,000 a year across all activities.
What is the S$30,000 cap?
Within the S$100,000 yearly cap, a company can use up to S$30,000 on single-function digital solutions, integrated enterprise systems and pre-scoped equipment. Both caps reset every 1 April.
Who counts as an SME for EDGE?
A company whose group annual sales turnover is not more than S$100 million, or whose group employment is not more than 200 workers, according to Enterprise Singapore's EDGE FAQ.
Can I sign with a vendor before I apply?
No. Enterprise Singapore does not support retrospective applications, meaning projects where work has started or any payment or deposit has been made before you submit the application.
