A website or web application is not finished when it launches. Software it depends on gets updated, security issues are found, forms stop sending, and the business changes what it needs. FYAdvisers maintains websites and web applications for small and mid-sized businesses in Singapore, so they keep working and keep improving without you needing an in-house developer.

This is part of our [IT consultancy](/services/it-consultancy/) work.

## What maintenance covers

- **Updates.** Core software, plugins, themes and code dependencies kept current, tested before they go live.
- **Security fixes.** Known vulnerabilities patched, admin access reviewed and unused accounts removed.
- **Backups.** Regular backups of files and databases, stored separately, with restores tested.
- **Monitoring.** Alerts when the site is down, slow, or a key form stops working.
- **Fixes.** Broken pages, links, forms and integrations repaired when something changes.
- **Small improvements.** Content updates, new pages, speed and search fixes, and changes to forms or workflows.

## Websites and web applications

We maintain marketing websites, and also the internal tools, client portals and automations behind them. Web applications need extra attention because they connect to other services: when an API changes or a provider updates its terms, the integration has to be adjusted. If we [built the software](/services/custom-software-development/) or the [workflow](/services/workflow-automation/), maintenance follows on naturally. If someone else did, we start with a review.

## Taking over an existing site or app

Many businesses come to us after a previous developer has moved on. We start by checking:

- who has access to the domain, hosting, code and admin accounts;
- whether backups exist and can be restored;
- which software is out of date or no longer supported;
- whether forms, payments and integrations still work;
- basic search and speed issues.

You get a plain summary of what we found and what we recommend, before any ongoing work is agreed.

## What we do not cover

Maintenance covers websites and web applications. We do not support staff laptops, email accounts, office networks, printers or servers. A managed IT services provider handles those, and our comparison of [IT consultants and managed IT services](/compare/it-consultant-vs-managed-it-services/) explains how the two fit together.

## Who this suits

- businesses whose website or app was built by someone no longer around
- teams that rely on a web form, portal or internal tool and cannot afford it to break quietly
- owners who want small changes made without starting a new project each time

## What to prepare before we talk

- The website or app address, and what it is built with if you know.
- Who built it and who has access to hosting and the domain.
- What has gone wrong recently, or what you would like changed.
- How quickly you need problems fixed when they appear.

[Get in touch](/#contact) and we will tell you what your site or app needs.

## Frequently asked questions

### What does website maintenance include?

Typically software and plugin updates, security fixes, backups, uptime monitoring, fixing broken pages or forms, and small content or design changes. The exact scope is agreed up front so you know what is covered.

### Do you maintain websites you did not build?

Often, yes. We review the site, hosting, access and code first, then tell you plainly what condition it is in and what we would change.

### Do you maintain web applications as well as websites?

Yes. Internal tools, portals and workflows need the same care: dependency updates, monitoring, backups and fixes when something they connect to changes.

### Do you provide IT support for staff devices?

No. Our maintenance covers websites and web applications. For laptops, email accounts, networks and helpdesk support, a managed IT services provider is the right fit.

### How much does website maintenance cost in Singapore?

It depends on the size of the site or app, how often it changes and the response time you need. We outline the scope and pricing after reviewing what you have.
