The Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG) no longer takes new applications. Enterprise Singapore's [EDGE Grant FAQ](https://www.enterprisesg.gov.sg/resources/all-faqs/edge-grant) states that "After 30 September 2026, no new application will be accepted" under PSG, EDG or MRA, and EDGE launched on 30 September 2026. For cybersecurity, EDGE now lists four single-function activities that refer to the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore's (CSA) Cyber Essentials requirements: firewall, virus or malware protection, data backup, and an integrated package of all three. Support is up to 50% for SMEs. Separately, CSA lists up to 70% co-funding for eligible SMEs that engage a CISO as-a-Service consultant.

PSG applications submitted before the cut-off continue to be assessed, and ongoing PSG projects are supported until completion and claim disbursement.

## How EDGE supports cybersecurity solutions

The four activities, as listed by Enterprise Singapore on 13 October 2026:

| Activity | What it covers | Cost cap | Max grant (SME) |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Secure/Protect: Firewall](https://www.enterprisesg.gov.sg/financial-support/edge-grant/automation-and-digitalisation/single-function-solutions/firewall) | Monitoring and controlling network traffic by security rules | S$25,000 | S$12,500 |
| [Secure/Protect: Virus or Malware Protection](https://www.enterprisesg.gov.sg/financial-support/edge-grant/automation-and-digitalisation/single-function-solutions/virus-malware-protection) | Protection against viruses, ransomware, spyware and similar | S$25,000 | S$12,500 |
| [Data backup](https://www.enterprisesg.gov.sg/financial-support/edge-grant/automation-and-digitalisation/single-function-solutions/backup) | Data copies for restoration and business continuity | S$10,000 | S$5,000 |
| [Integrated Anti-malware, Firewall and Backup](https://www.enterprisesg.gov.sg/financial-support/edge-grant/automation-and-digitalisation/single-function-solutions/integrated-anti-malware-firewall-and-backup) | A combined package addressing Cyber Essentials requirements | S$45,000 | S$22,500 |

Non-SMEs receive up to 30%. For all four, only software costs are supported, capped at 12 months, and GST and maintenance costs are excluded. Projects must be completed within 18 months of approval.

These sit within a S$30,000 sub-cap shared by single-function digital solutions, integrated enterprise systems and pre-scoped equipment, inside EDGE's overall cap of S$100,000 per company per year (1 April to 31 March). If you also plan a CRM or accounting system this year, they draw on the same sub-cap.

### How this links to Cyber Essentials

CSA's 17 October 2024 [summary of initiatives](https://www.csa.gov.sg/news-events/press-releases/summary-of-initiatives-to-help-organisations-enhance-cybersecurity/) explains that the SMEs Go Digital cybersecurity categories were refreshed to map to the Cyber Essentials measures "Secure/Protect" and "Backup", so SMEs can choose standalone solutions or integrated packages. The [Cyber Essentials mark](https://www.csa.gov.sg/our-programmes/support-for-enterprises/sg-cyber-safe-programme/cybersecurity-certification-for-organisations/cyber-essentials/) is CSA's certification for fundamental cybersecurity measures, and CSA has added cloud, operational technology and AI security to it.

### CISO as-a-Service

Tools cover the technology side. CSA's [CISO as-a-Service](https://www.csa.gov.sg/our-programmes/support-for-enterprises/sg-cyber-safe-programme/cybersecurity-certification-for-organisations/ciso-as-a-service-to-develop-cybersecurity-health-plan/) scheme covers people and process. A CSA-onboarded consultant acts as your outsourced security lead, runs a cyber health check, builds a plan and prepares you for at least Cyber Essentials certification. CSA says eligible SMEs can receive up to 70% co-funding and sign up through SMEs Go Digital. This is a CSA scheme, separate from the EDGE activities above.

## How to check whether a solution qualifies

1. Open the cybersecurity categories on IMDA's [SMEs Go Digital](https://smesgodigital.gov.sg) platform and confirm the vendor and exact package are listed.
2. Match the package to the right EDGE activity: a firewall alone, protection alone, backup alone, or the integrated package.
3. Check eligibility on the activity page: registered and operating in Singapore, and at least 30% owned by Singaporeans or Singapore PRs. The firewall page also excludes home-based businesses.

Questions to ask a security vendor:

- Which SMEs Go Digital package and Cyber Essentials measure does this quotation cover?
- How many devices, users or sites are included, and what does adding more cost?
- What does renewal cost after the first 12 months?
- Who is alerted when the firewall or anti-malware flags something, and what happens next?
- How often is backup tested by restoring data?

## What to look for

Start with what you have: a list of devices, accounts, cloud services and where important data lives. Then check that protection covers every laptop and phone used for work, that backups are stored separately from the systems they protect, and that someone in the business or at the vendor watches alerts. A tool nobody monitors gives little protection. If you are unsure where to start, a CISO as-a-Service health check is designed to answer that question.

## How to apply, step by step

From Enterprise Singapore's activity pages:

1. **Prepare documents:** a vendor quotation and a projection of expected cost savings for one year after the project.
2. **Choose a vendor and solution** on SMEs Go Digital.
3. **Get a quotation** for that package.
4. **Build your solution package** on SMEs Go Digital so it matches the quotation exactly.
5. **Confirm the package** with your company's Corppass to generate a package reference ID.
6. **Apply on the Business Grants Portal** via the "Apply now" link on the activity page. Staff need the BGP Preparer and BGP Acceptor Corppass roles.
7. **Accept the Letter of Offer**, then complete the project.
8. **Claim** after deliverables are met and costs are paid, with a photo of the deployed software and its unique identifier. Claims for digital solutions open from 1 November 2026, according to the FAQ.

## Common mistakes

- **Buying after an incident, before applying.** Retrospective applications are not supported, and no work or payment may start before submission.
- **Buying firewall, protection and backup separately when the integrated package fits.** Compare the activities and their caps first.
- **Forgetting the shared sub-cap.** Cybersecurity and other digital solutions share S$30,000 a year.
- **Letting the vendor apply.** Third parties cannot apply for or manage the grant for you.

No. Enterprise Singapore says no new PSG applications are accepted after 30 September 2026. Applications submitted before then continue to be assessed, and ongoing projects are supported to completion. New cybersecurity purchases go through the EDGE Grant.

### Which cybersecurity solutions does EDGE support?

On 13 October 2026, Enterprise Singapore listed four single-function activities: firewall, virus or malware protection, data backup, and an integrated anti-malware, firewall and backup package. Each refers to CSA's Cyber Essentials requirements. Support is up to 50% for SMEs and 30% for non-SMEs.

### What is CSA's Cyber Essentials mark?

It is a Cyber Security Agency of Singapore certification for organisations that put fundamental cybersecurity measures in place against common threats. CSA describes it as designed for businesses of all sizes and has added cloud, operational technology and AI security to it.

### Is there funding for a cybersecurity consultant?

CSA's CISO as-a-Service page says eligible SMEs can get up to 70% co-funding when they sign up with a CSA-onboarded consultant through SMEs Go Digital. The consultant runs a cyber health check and prepares you for at least Cyber Essentials. Check the CSA page for current terms.

### Can the security vendor apply for the grant for us?

No. Enterprise Singapore says third-party companies are not permitted to apply for or manage the grant on behalf of the applicant. Your own staff with the BGP Preparer and BGP Acceptor Corppass roles submit it.
