# PSG grant for accounting software: what applies in Singapore now

> Accounting software was one of the most common PSG purchases. PSG has now closed, and support for ready-made software runs through the EDGE Grant. Here is how it works, how to check a vendor, and what to look for in the software.

You can no longer apply for the PSG grant for accounting software. Enterprise Singapore's [EDGE Grant page](https://www.enterprisesg.gov.sg/financial-support/edge-grant) says PSG ceased on 29 September 2026, and new applications now go through the EDGE Grant, launched on 30 September 2026. Ready-made accounting software may be supportable under EDGE as a single-function digital solution, or as part of an integrated system with financial management among its functions. Check the specific package before you sign, and do not pay anything until you have applied.

If you submitted a PSG application before 30 September 2026, it continues under the original PSG rules. Our [PSG grant guide](/grants/psg-grant/) explains the transition.

## How EDGE support works for accounting software

### Support level

The [EDGE FAQ](https://www.enterprisesg.gov.sg/resources/all-faqs/edge-grant) sets support at up to 50% for SMEs and up to 30% for non-SMEs on standard activities. Levels vary by activity, so confirm the rate on the activity page.

### Sub-cap and annual cap

Single-function digital solutions, integrated enterprise systems and pre-scoped equipment share a sub-cap of up to S$30,000. This sits within a S$100,000 annual cap per company, running from 1 April to 31 March. The FAQ also says selected single-function solutions and integrated systems are limited to one application per UEN.

That limit matters. If you need accounting, payroll and inventory, consider whether one integrated system serves you better than separate tools. Our [EDGE grant calculator](/tools/edge-grant-calculator/) helps you estimate support on a quote.

### Standalone package or integrated ERP

- **Single-function solution.** A standalone accounting package. Enterprise Singapore points businesses to IMDA's SMEs Go Digital platform to browse vendors.
- **Integrated ERP.** A system covering at least three functions from Enterprise Singapore's list, such as financial management, human resources management, and supply chain and inventory management. You can use a pre-approved vendor's package, processed in about one week, or your own vendor, processed in about ten weeks.

## How to check whether a vendor qualifies

1. **Search [SMEs Go Digital](https://smesgodigital.gov.sg)** for the vendor and package, and review the supportable cost components, including data migration and integration.
2. **Check the activity** on Enterprise Singapore's EDGE pages or [BizSG](https://www.bizsg.gov.sg/).
3. **Ask the vendor or reseller:**
   - Which EDGE activity does this package fall under?
   - What is included: licences, setup, data migration, training?
   - How many users, and for how long, does the supported package cover?
   - What will the subscription cost after the project ends?
   - What unique identifier, such as a licence number or user email, will you provide?

Treat any "PSG approved" label as history. It does not establish eligibility for a new EDGE application.

## What to look for in accounting software

Choose the software for your finance process first:

- **Invoicing and quotes.** Branded invoices, quotes that convert to invoices, and recurring billing.
- **Bank reconciliation.** How bank transactions reach the software and how matching works.
- **GST.** GST codes, returns and reporting. IRAS is phasing in its [GST InvoiceNow requirement](https://www.iras.gov.sg/taxes/goods-services-tax-(gst)/gst-invoicenow-requirement), starting with companies that registered voluntarily within six months of incorporation from 1 November 2025, and reaching existing GST-registered businesses in stages up to 1 April 2031. Ask how invoices are sent through InvoiceNow.
- **Bills and expense claims.** Supplier bill capture and staff claim approvals.
- **Integrations.** Connections to your POS, e-commerce, payroll and CRM.
- **Multi-currency and multi-entity.** Important if you trade overseas or run several companies.
- **Accountant access.** Whether your accounting firm already works with the software.

Well-known cloud options in Singapore include Xero and QuickBooks. Xero's Singapore site, for example, lists invoicing and quotes, online payments, bill payments, bank reconciliation, payroll and expense claims, and says it connects with more than 1,000 apps. Check current plans and features with each vendor, and check grant status separately on the official pages.

### When an integrated system makes more sense

A standalone accounting package suits most small firms whose main need is invoicing, bank reconciliation and GST. An integrated system is worth a look when several of these are true:

- stock, purchasing and sales orders need to post straight into the books;
- you run projects and need costs tracked against each one;
- payroll and HR data should sit in the same system as finance;
- several staff re-key the same transaction into different tools.

Because Enterprise Singapore limits selected single-function solutions and integrated systems to one application per UEN, this choice also decides how you use the S$30,000 sub-cap.

## Step-by-step application

1. **Get a quotation** for the package. Do not pay, sign up for a paid plan or start migration.
2. **Confirm the activity and package** on Enterprise Singapore's pages and SMEs Go Digital.
3. **Prepare documents.** Requirements vary by activity. For Automation and Digitalisation, include a current tenancy agreement.
4. **Submit on the Business Grants Portal** using a Corppass account with the BGP Preparer or Acceptor role.
5. **Receive the Letter of Offer.** Paying between submission and approval may be supported if approved, at your own risk.
6. **Implement, migrate data and pay in full.**
7. **Submit one final claim.** Claims for single-function solutions and integrated systems open from 1 November 2026. EDGE pays by reimbursement.

## Common mistakes

- **Starting a paid subscription early.** A payment before submission makes the application retrospective.
- **Underestimating migration.** Opening balances, customer lists and historical data take time. Agree scope in the quote.
- **Ignoring the one-application limit.** Plan accounting alongside payroll and POS.
- **Not involving your accountant.** They may prefer a particular system or chart of accounts.
- **Forgetting renewal costs.** Ask what you will pay each year once the project period ends.

## How FYAdvisers can help

FYAdvisers is a free, concierge-led matching service. If you also need someone to set up and run your books, describe what you need and a concierge introduces one to five [accounting firms](/find/accounting-firms/) that fit. Ask each how their software setup maps to EDGE, and confirm it with Enterprise Singapore. You can estimate support with the [EDGE grant calculator](/tools/edge-grant-calculator/).

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I still use the PSG grant for accounting software?

Not for a new application. Enterprise Singapore says PSG ceased on 29 September 2026 and no new applications are accepted after 30 September 2026. PSG applications submitted before then are still assessed under the original rules.

### Does EDGE cover accounting software?

EDGE supports single-function digital solutions and integrated enterprise systems. Financial management is one of the functions listed for integrated ERP. For a standalone accounting package, check the vendor and package on IMDA's SMEs Go Digital platform and confirm the activity on Enterprise Singapore's EDGE pages.

### How much EDGE support can I get for accounting software?

Up to 50% for SMEs and 30% for non-SMEs on standard activities, subject to the activity page. Single-function solutions, integrated systems and pre-scoped equipment share a S$30,000 sub-cap within the S$100,000 annual cap.

### Is accounting software needed for InvoiceNow?

IRAS is phasing in the GST InvoiceNow requirement for GST-registered businesses from 1 November 2025 to 1 April 2031, depending on when you registered and your annual supplies. If you are GST-registered, ask vendors how their software sends invoice data through InvoiceNow.

### Can my accountant or vendor apply for the grant for me?

No. Enterprise Singapore says vendors and other third parties cannot submit EDGE applications on a company's behalf. Staff with the Corppass BGP Preparer or Acceptor role submit on the Business Grants Portal.
